It is quite a busy season for the Ukrainian Students’ Clubs around Ontario. This past weekend, Saturday March 21, 2015, the Ukrainian Students’ Club at Ryerson hosted their first ever Trampoline Dodgeball Tournament.

For those of you that don't know, Trampoline Dodgeball is a fun new activity where players in teams bounce on multiple indoor trampolines and throw soft balls at each other. If a player is hit with a ball, then they are out. The winning team is one with most players still in the game once the time runs out.
The Students' club hosted the tournament at Sky Zone Mississauga – an indoor trampoline facility. Each game consisted of 20 minutes of play between 2 of the 7 teams registered.

Everyone had a great time. One participant Yuri Bindas tells the New Pathway that he “had more fun than he thought he would!” It was definitely a new experience for most participants. “In trampoline dodgeball you use a lot of muscles you don't normally use. I'm still sore everywhere,” explains Yuri, “as I'm sure everyone else is as well!”

Ukrainian Credit Union Limited sponsored the event and several participating teams. The tournament was followed by cocktails, buffet dinner, awards and finally a zabava. Toronto Ukrainian band Zapovid led the fun as the participants ended their evening with dancing at Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Community Centre on Horner Ave. in Toronto.
