Before the Ruins: Explore the Natural Wonders of Kherson Region and the Cultural Landmarks of the City of Kherson

Embark on a journey to the city of Kherson and Kherson region where natural wonders and historical narratives intertwine. Through vivid photography, engaging videos, and the compelling stories of Iryna Yevstafieva, a native from Kherson, you will immerse yourself in the region's nature wonders, history and culture.

• Discover the Oleshky Sands, Europe's largest sand massif with unique flora and fauna.
• Venture into the Askania Nova (the Ukrainian Serengeti) biosphere reserve, a pathway for 270 species of birds annually, with more than 100 species calling it their nesting ground.
• Marvel at Dzharylhach Island (the Ukrainian Maldives) and Biryuchy Island, the largest islands in the Black and Azov Seas respectively, each wrapped in ancient myths and home to rare wildlife.
• Have a glimpse of the pink Lake Lemuria, a natural wonder with its unique hue and allure.
• You will also learn about the efforts being made to repair the damage inflicted on nature in the region and in the city of Kherson.

• That Donbas is the homeland of the Soviet dissidents and creators of UNSO – Ukrainian People's Self-Defense
• That Donbas is home to a constellation of contemporary poets, including poet Serhiy Zhadan (the most popular Ukrainian writer abroad), and charming Lyubov Yakimchuk, who was invited to perform in front of thousands at the official Grammy Awards ceremony, where she read the poem “Prayer” from her collection “Apricots of Donbas.”
