On Sunday, February 7, a Toronto concert hall GALLERY 345 hosted a benefit concert for the Ukraine Prosthetic Assistance Project. According to the event's facebook page, the program featured diverse styles, from Romantic to contemporary, to jazz-inspired music. In particular, Alex McLeod, viola; Izabella Budai, flute; Peter Stoll, clarinet; Matthew Christakos, cello; and Maria Dolnycky, piano, performed the works by Lysenko, Kos-Anatolsky, Prokofiev, Taktakishvili, Barvinsky, Levko Kolodub, as well as two Canadian premieres by Boris Kosak and Taras Yachshenko.

According to Maria Dolnycky, the concert raised $4,145 toward the Ukraine Prosthetic Assistance Project. The project founder Antonina Kumka and a team member Chris Fantini attended the concert and spoke to the audience about the project's progress.
The event was supported by the Ukrainian Credit Union, Rosewood Estates Winery, Halenda’s Meats, to Heath Bartel (original artwork), Edward Epstein of Gallery 345, and graphic designer Denys Golemenkov.

According to the UCC-Toronto web-site, within the Ukraine Prosthetic Assistance Project, in April-May, 2015, a team of registered prosthetists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists from USA and Canada traveled to Kyiv to work with their Ukrainian counterparts from across the country on various cases of amputations involving different types of prosthesis. Six candidates received quality, functional prosthesis, more than ten patients were consulted.

The second tour of the project is planned for April 2 to April 16, 2016 in Lviv. The team will now consist of eight specialists: prosthetists, occupational and physio therapists. At least eight amputees will receive functional prosthesis (50% lower limbs + 50% upper limbs) and at least 15 specialists will be trained in providing adequate services. In addition, consultations and seminars on pre and post prosthetic rehabilitation will be held for a wider number of participants. The funds raised at “Tribute to Courage” event on Nov 29, 2015 are covering most of the project related costs: travel and accommodation of the specialists, some components. All of the team members are volunteers – both specialists and administrators of the project.
