Ukrainian Credit Union – Continuing To Build Community

May 5, 2015 | Newpathway, Community, Featured

On April 28th 2015, the Ukrainian Credit Union Limited which started life as the Ukrainian (Toronto) Credit Union, part of the UNF’s system of credit unions across Canada, held its 71st Annual General Meeting at the UNF Toronto Branch in Etobicoke.

The meeting gave the Staff & Board the opportunity to talk about some of the hard work and important achievements that the Credit Union has made in the last year. As one of the top 15 credit unions in Ontario, UCU has a lot of things to be proud of. Among those, is UCU’s ongoing and unwavering support of the Ukrainian-Canadian Community. UCU doesn’t always get the kind of recognition it deserves because its support of the community is broad, and covers a lot of ground between Toronto, Ottawa, St. Catharines, Hamilton, Sudbury, Oshawa, Mississauga and Thunder Bay and their surrounding regions. People thus don’t always hear about the great work done to support the community by this Credit Union. But without this work many of our community institutions would not be able to continue operating.

At the AGM, the Credit Union was able to share some of its 2014 successes with well deserving organizations including the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Ukrainian Canadian Congress (Toronto Branch), The Protestant Churches of Donetsk & Luhansk regions, the Ukrainian National Federation National Executive, and New Pathway Publishers.

On behalf of the readers of New Pathway, the Members of the UNF of Canada and the entire community, this newspaper wishes to acknowledge and thank Ukrainian Credit Union Ltd. for 71 years of Building Community across Ontario. We wish the incoming board, and all of the staff of UCU all the best, as you continue to work hard to make UCU the number one choice for banking for the Ukrainian community in Ontario.
