The Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (Edmonton) in collaboration with Kingsway Mall are actioning off 17 giant Ukrainian Pysankas (traditional Ukrainian Easter Eggs) from the “Pysankas for Peace” Art Exhibit. The giant three-foot and six-foot Pysankys have been hand painted by local artists and are on display in the halls of Kingsway Mall until May 9th.

All funds collected through the online auction will be donated to the Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (Edmonton) to support the needs of Ukrainian citizens settling in Edmonton after feeling the war in Ukraine. “We’re raising awareness about the large number of Ukrainian citizens that are arriving daily in Edmonton. We’ll be using the funds to support the urgent needs of these newest Edmontonian, such as buying grocery cards and bus passes” says John Shalewa, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (Edmonton).

Those that may not want a pysanka, can also make a direct donation on the auction’s website. All donations and auction winners will receive a charitable tax receipt.

The auction is open until May 8th at 5pm. To view the pysankas, place a bid, or donate visit https://www.kingswaymall.com/events/pysanky-for-peace.
