On October 26, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council (UCC – APC) held its 2022-2023 Annual General Meeting in Edmonton. During this meeting, the President and Board of Directors were re-elected to lead the organization for the next two years.
Orysia Yakymchuk-Boychuk, who has shown exceptional leadership over the past four years, was re-elected as UCC – APC President. She successfully navigated the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Her report during the meeting highlighted the humanitarian aid work, settlement support for Ukrainian newcomers, and mental health assistance. The UCC – APC remains committed to serving the Ukrainian community in Alberta and throughout Canada.
UCC – APC welcomes Melody Kostiuk as a newly elected board member. Lydia Migus, Iryna Lytvynets, and Alex Taraiev were re-elected, while Alyssa Stoddard and Andriy Tovstiuk will continue serving on the 2023-2024 board as their terms have not yet expired.
The UCC – APC expresses its gratitude to all the organizations, volunteers, donors, and everyone who contributed to making this year exceptional and extraordinary. Special thanks to our office staff, including Deb van Haaften, Oksana Vasurchak, Solomiya Geleta, Nadia Hunko, and Khrystyna Halchuk for their hard work.
